Beacon Hill U16s 5 - 1 Heddingham
“So a frustrating morning all round, we play these again on our patch next week, find those shooting boots cut out some of the daft mistakes and we could be in for a treat.”

Last week's final paragraph I think the lads may have read it!

This was our most complete performance this season in tricky, windy conditions Heddingham couldn’t live with our football and pace up front. When we’re playing out from the back the idea is to draw your opponent on to you, hopefully exposing some gaps if we are good enough to beat the press, we did it brilliantly for the first two goals, Jake broke the lines, finding the forwards who did the rest, Fin netting both times from some unselfish setup play. It was a happy permanent welcome back to Oscar who got a deserved goal to put us 3 up going into the break. A gainst the wind in the second half the challenge was to try and keep playing on the floor and in the main we did. Heddingham did pull one back even though the player looked miles offside, and despite a couple of other moments from Heddingham we controlled the rest of the half, numerous chances were well saved by their excellent keeper, Thomas especially unlucky with a cracking volley. The goal that sealed it came from Lennon, whose quick feet set him up to bury a shot into the bottom corner . Callum, debuting his snazzy new boots saw an excellent long-range strike hit the post and Ethan was unlucky not to score with his clever lobbed follow-up.The icing on the cake came from another powerful long-range strike by Callum that the keeper could only parry into Fin’s path to seal his hat trick and a thumping win. Loads of positives to take from today into a much harder test next week against our old foes Notley.

Beacon Hill U14s 5 - 0 Valley Green Vipers
The one felt like it could be a banana skin. Having beaten Valley Green twice this season, both games were tight and with the excessive wind, we expected a very tough and ugly game. However, we got neither.

Playing into the wind, the boys were excellent. They negotiated the high balls really well and in contrast, kept the ball on the floor and it made all the difference. Ben Large put us one up, firing high into the far corner. Alfie Murphy then made it two with a calm finish. Goal of the game was scored by Louie Hunt. Picking the ball up close to the sideline, he weaved his way past 4 defenders and despite being close to the byline, slotted low past the keeper. A fourth, this time an own goal after Alfie Murphy's cross, meant we went into half-time four up and full of confidence.

We never quite hit the heights in the second half, with Ben Large scoring the only goal with an excellent low finish. But, to come away with a clean sheet, for Josh to be relatively quiet in goal and for the wind to not have been a factor was very encouraging.

Writtle Minors Girls U12 1 - 2 BHRFC Girls U12
The U12 girls headed into their 10th league game of the season still sitting at the top of the table but with other teams close on their heels.

The home team gained the advantage by scoring after 2 minutes against the initial run of play, but the Beacon Hill girls quickly equalised less than 60 seconds later with a brilliant finish from just inside the Writtle box from Erin W, with an assist from Adeline after a strong and driven run down the right wing by Georgina.

Storm Bert and the physicality of the opposition would have seen the Beacon Hill girls defeated a year ago however they battled hard together, displaying great team work with an energetic high press that often regained possession in dangerous areas. The Beacon Hill persistence was rewarded with Erin W converting the decisive goal in the 49th minute from a tight angle beating the keeper with confidence.

A solid and resilient final 11 minutes rewarded Beacon Hill with an excellent 2–1 away victory which keeps them top of the league for another week.

So many excellent performances throughout the team however a strong and determined defensive performance from Lily Dee who dominated the Writtle attackers was named player of the match.
