Mental health

Beacon Hill Rovers, like The FA, recognise the importance of creating an environment where people can be open about their Mental Health.

The club has two dedicated Mental Health first-aiders: Chris Pipe and Joe Williams.

Both have passed the MHFA first aid course. They are both available to all players and members who would like to talk in total confidence. As with any physical injury, people should have the confidence to talk about their mental health issues in the same way.

It is estimated that 1 in 4 people will suffer from some degree of mental health issues, across grassroots football and within our local football community playing football can help to improve people’s mental health by creating social inclusion and helping with physical health.

We have all heard of CPR but an acronym we should all familiarise ourselves with for Mental Health First Aid is ALGEE
