Beacon Hill U15 2 - 4 Maldon & Tiptree
Poor first half again loses the match.

We actually started the game fairly well with Fin going agonisingly close to putting us one up but the ball bounced over somehow. Once M and T got into the game they were the clear aggressors, winning all the tackles, headers, and second balls, this led to them taking the lead and then two errors that cost goals, which meant for the second game running we were 3 down at half time.

The boys played much better in the second half despite the Maldon centre forward banging in a fourth from 25 yards out. Oscar pulled one back with a cool finish when put through and when a really nice phase of play resulted in Fin deflecting in a second there was still time to stage a comeback. We were on top and finally, the lads had got to grips with the physicality of the game, Fin hit the bar, Maldon cleared off the line, Jake scored a goal from a clear offside position and then Zack scored from a not-so-clear offside.

All this showed was had we started the game much better then the result would have been a lot different.

Beacon Hill U13s 1 - 0 Springfield Whites
The 13s finally get a victory!

Having played 8, lost 8, as well as a loss on penalties in the cup, the 13s could be forgiven for writing this season off or even giving up (and some have). But, as they've done all season, all the players gave everything and this time got the result they deserved.

Whilst Ben Large scored the only goal with a calm finish in the second half, there were some awesome performances worth mentioning, particularly from the 6 who played every minute.

William Booty, James Large, and Charlie Jarvis were immense at the back, stopping the league's most potent strike force for the first time this season. Callum Webb and Wolfie Caplan ran themselves into the ground in central midfield and Adam Moore was on point when Springfield did manage a shot on goal.

A special mention to Marcus who admirably came through an incredibly tough week.

The reward for the win....a trip to the league leaders with a 100% record!
