BHR First Team 5 - 0 Epping Town
A hattrick from Ben McCrow and two from Jack Walker in a comfortable victory for the firsts.
BHR U17s 3 - 2 Epping Town
A brace from Samuel Bruce and one from Jack Gilbert gave Hill a 3-2 victory.
BHR U15s 2 - 2 Brentwood Youth (4-1 After penalties)
What an effort by those eleven lads we had available today, a squad missing five/six players playing in unseasonably hot weather on a rock hard pitch worked their socks off for each other today and ground out a memorable result to progress in the Essex cup.
Jakes huge kick from hand gave Fin a chance to show his blistering pace and he nipped in ahead of the keeper to nod home an early opener. Brentwood settled into the game and equalised late in the half after an almighty scramble in the goal mouth where we just couldn’t clear our lines.
An even second half saw Brentwood take the lead despite Jake nearly saving the shot. The boy’s showed great resilience to take the game to pens when Henry’s excellent through ball once again gave Fin the chance to outpace the defence and finish, he did!
And straight to penalties.
Fair play to the five lads who all offered to take one and duly put our first four away, Zach, Evan, Henry and Fin all scoring comfortably. The plaudits go to Jake in goal though who produced two brilliant saves to save Brentwood’s first two pens and he so nearly saved the third as well seeing it roll agonisingly over the line after he’d parried the shot.
Lovely to see all the boys celebrating together when Fin stuck away the winning pen, a great moment that those eleven lads will always remember.
BHR U14g 3 -0 Woodham Radars
A fantastic front foot performance from Beacon having lost 3-1 to radars in the cup 2 weeks ago. On a hot afternoon the work rate was really impressive and was ultimately the difference. The first goal coming from positive attacking football driving into the box from Pippa finding the back of the net after 12 minutes. Beacon took further control after 25 minutes. Paige scoring direct from a free kick just outside the box finding the bottom corner for 2-0. Beacon dug in during the second half limiting radars to half chances with some excellent handling from Rosie in goal. The third and final goal was the icing on the cake. A superb solo run down the right wing from Emelia beating 3 players on the way to smashing the ball off the far post. Beaconwon the rebound and got in back in the box where Emelia deservedly found the back of the net. 3-0 for a fantastic all round team performance.
BHR U13 7 - 1 Springfield Blue
As the assessment games draw to a close, the boys finally secured their first win. 4 goals from Callum Webb, a hattrick from Ben Large and a penalty save from Adam Moore the highlights from a very dominent display.
BHR U10 9 - 0 Witham Town Reds
After two weeks of narrow defeats, training ground pass and move persistence paid off today with the boys playing with their heads up looking for each other displayed some nice football. With a hat-trick each for Pope and Linton, goals from Edwards, Tolhurst and Metcalf rounded off a beautiful morning at the Hill.
BHR U9B 2 - 3 Maldon and Tiptree Lions
Heard about this team and fully expected a competitive game. A combination of excellent defending and strong goalkeeping from Harwood kept our guests out in the initial few minutes, a few Bhr attacks followed and when the ball was cleared it fell to Pash who smashed it home from way outside the box!!
Both sides traded punches for the rest of the half and M&t managed an equaliser just before half time, 1-1. The second half started with an M&t attack which unfortunately ended up in the net. A few attacks later and Purdy through on goal to slot home with ease, again the game swung either way, and unfortunately a cross field pass ricocheted off of a bhr player and drop to the attacker, Harwood saved the first attempt but it bounced off the attacker and went in, a few more Bhr attacks that didn’t end up in the back of the net and that’s how the game stayed
Brilliant game to watch, lots to take from it
Beacon Hill Rovers U9 Girls 1 - 3 Springfield
Second game of the weekend for our U9 girls today. A win yesterday, and a lose today, though for us that’s not the important part, in both games the girls showed just how much they are improving game on game.
Springfield scored first with a nice run of play. Beacon though levelled from a fab pass and move team goal and finished off by Tamsin Davis into the roof of the net. 1-1 at half time. Second half both teams played some lovely football, Springfield managed to edge the lead whilst Beacon Hill lost concentration briefly. Some great Goal Keeper handling from Isla Rose again today. Ace defending from Elsie/Eden/Josie/Isla C, lovely midfield work from Orla L, Cora, Sylvie and Orla M, plus we’ve found ourselves a striker in Tamsin.
So proud of the girls today they are starting to find their stride. Keep up the hardwork girls and the results/goals will follow.
Beacon Hill U9/10 Girls 2 - Witham Town Belles U10 Girls 1
Fab game today, the U9 girls welcomed four of our U10 girls (who play up for U11s) into the team for the day to help them gain further experience playing up against an U10 team.
Although the girls aren’t use to playing together in a game situation they train together so all know each other well.
Fab performance all round and Hill were 2-0 up at half time. Goals scored by Tamsin Davis after being set up by Georgina, Flo and Orla L.
Sold performances from each and every player. Everyone got at least 50% game play and what a fab experience it was to merge two squads and give the girls a different chance to further develop.
Squad: Tilly (Capt), Isla C, Scarlett, Meghan, Georgina, Orla L, Flo, Tamsin, Orla M, Sylvie and Elsie.
South Woodham 5 - 4 BHR U7s
After 3 wins on the bounce in some relatively uncompetitive games, the U7s found themselves against a willing competitor this week. Taking the opening goal superbly, Cohen Patel notched up the first goal of the game. The boys lost their shape a little bit, with the opposition taking the next batch of goals; making the most of some gaps left in the Beacon Hill defence…. However the persistence and resilience of our boys shone through as we pulled goals back through Henry Jarvis and Teddy Souster (x2). The second goal a beautifully struck free kick that came straight out of the James Maddison handbook.
With close chances to draw and even win the game in the closing stages, the boys did themselves proud against a tough opponent
