United Chelmsford Churches First 1 - 0 Beacon Hill Reserves
Beacon Hill Ladies 3 - 1 Broomfield
Undefeated….We continue our winning start to the 2023-24 season!
A tough game today against Broomfield who kept the pressure on with plenty of shots against us.
Our first goal came in the 8th minute. A pass from Ella, split the defence to leave captain Smeats through one-on-one with Broomfield keeper.
We saw out the first half with a 1-0 lead with increased pressure from the away team.
The second half was much the same. Our resilience in the premier division saw us see out some good attacking play from Broomfield
Broomfield’s keeper was on fine form and denied us a few good shots!
Our second goal was scored by Smeats assisted by Ella Jones and third goal for Beacon Hill was scored by Ella with an assist from Fleur!
Broomfield scored a quick goal in response from a corner, after several attempts to clear, they got a deserved goal.
Our winning start continues…a tough game coming up away next week at Clacton
Great Notley Y U16 Whites 0 - 2 Beacon Hill U16s
Beacon Hill U15s 1 - 3 Chelmsford City
Average performance gets what it deserved.
The lads started the game slowly again and we let in an extremely poor goal with no one taking charge to attack the long ball. Unlike the game against Swifts we couldn’t turn our performance around and conceded another poor goal. Fin showed the way by really attacking a corner and pulled one back with a well timed header. We let yet another poorly defended goal in on the stroke of half time and despite playing slightly better in the second half nothing of any note was created and the loss was sealed.
Hopefully just a blip today I’m sure with some focus we’ll be back at it next week.
Red Wing U12 0- 4 Beacon Hill U12
Beacon Hill U12s continued their impressive start to the season with a win on the road at Red Wing FC.
They exerted their dominance right from the get go, keeping the ball and passing it around very well from front to back on what was to prove to be a tricky pitch to play on.
For all of the dominance shown by Beacon inexplicably, the score remained only 1-0 at the half time interval with Rovers finding more holes in the Red Wing defence than there were in the pitch. Numerous chances came and went to many of the Beacon players all seemingly unable to put the ball in the back of the net.
With the 1st half offering only one goal it was Lakin and C McBride who linked up well down the left, enabling Toby Pass to advance into the Red Wing box and having cut back to round his defender, he smashed an unstoppable shot past the keeper into the roof of the net.
Half time came and things progressed in the 2nd period. Even the linesman were on opposite sides for this half.
Much like the first, Beacon were passing it around with ease and Red Wing really didn't trouble Bescon too much, apart the occasional counter attack. Cool heads at the back dealing with anything that materialised.
About half way through the 2nd half it was Teasel from the right hand side, who, by his own admission, managed to drive a cross in from very wide on the right, only to see it fly into the opposite corner of the goal off the inside of the post.
A third quickly followed and really put the game to bed. With the ball bobbling around the edge of the box, Connor McBride was able to latch onto a misplaced Red Wing pass and fire in an excellent effort from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner for 3-0.
Beacon continued to defend well, needing only to deal with the occasional threat mostly shown from corners, and the back line and especially Simmance, will be pleased with a well deserved but rare, clean sheet.
With Beacon Hill being able to change personnel and positions regularly at this stage, the game was rounded off with Beacons 4th.
Good work and pass in midfield from Charlie Maling, put Miller Teasel through for his 2nd of the game, keeping his head to fire past the outrushing keeper into the bottom corner.
Red Wing hit the bar late on, and Simmance saved well direct from a free kick with what would only have been a consolation.
Stronger tests to come for Beacon in this division, but another impressive performance none the less.
Beacon Hill U10s 0-1 Dunmow Utd
The closest game of the season so far, could have gone either way. They couldn't get the ball past Eddie Newell who had a stormer of a game, and we couldn't put our chances away. It all came down to an unlucky penalty Dunmow were awarded and eventually got the ball in the back of the net. A gritty performance from Callum Cook earned him player of the week for his fantastic defending and great use of weaker foot ?
