Amnesia strikes as youth football returns
Harold Wood Cougars 5 - 0 BHR U16s
The under 16âs were victims of amnesia, heading into the season having played only one friendly. A real lack lustre display saw them lose 5 - 0.
Springfield Blue 4-1 BHR U14
Another bout of collective amnesia, this time from the U14's lead to a poor first half performance and a 3-1 deficit at half time.
Once the boys remembered the need to work hard they dominated play and created more chances in the second half. However, a late Springfield 4th totally against the run of play ended any chance of a fight back.
A fine strike from Josh Hall for BHRs' only goal of the game.
BHR U12s 1 - 3 Hutton Yellow
The U12âs played out a well fought game against a very good Hutton side. The game started with Hill playing some excellent passing football, resulting in them taking the lead after a well timed tackle from Ben large played in Callum Webb who finished with precision.
The second half was unfortunately a different story. Some sloppy passing gifted the opposition 2 second half goals. A well taken third followed to seal victory for the visitors.
Blackmore 4 - 5 BHR U11s
The U11s won 5-4 away at Blackmore. Great team performance which was shown by having 5 different goal scorers including two from our defensive players. Goal scorers: Oliver NEWELL, Connor McBride, Charlie Maling, Miller Teasel & Bobby Pike. Opposition complimented us for our teams playing from the back style!
BHR U9s 8 - 3 Maldon & Tiptree
Following last seasons promotion, the U9's lost their 1st game against their strong neighbours 8-3. Playing some nice football and getting used to the bigger pitch there were lots of positives. Some great build up play created well taken goals for Butcher, Metcalf and Tolhurst.
BHR U8s 4 - 2 Dunmow Rovers Jaguars
Our first league game (non competitive of course)
Slightly slow start saw the boys 2 nil down after 10mins, but some great goal keeping from Harwood/Simmance kept us in the game and goals from Pash, Stefanini and Purdy eventually won us the game.
Excellent team performance by all and they really deserved it for sticking together
