Girls show their stuff and the 13s secure Premier football

Beacon Hill U7 Girls The girls played in an u7 girls festival, hosted by Little Canfield on Saturday. All the girls played really well and a great learning in terms of organisational and positional play.

They played 6 games and in the last few games we looked a lot more organised and our shape was so much better...especially once we’d found out what a fabulous Centre Defender Orla Levine was Six games on the bounce was a tough ask in that heat so applause to every player. We won 1, drew a few and lost one or two. Great goal from Sylvie Green! Well done to Elsie Whittle for winning player of the tournament, voted for by the other managers. For her outstanding saves in games 4 & 5. The other managers had a good point far more goals were saved today than scored due to the small target goals size! And goalkeepers rarely ever win anything. Thanks to all players who stepped in goal as can’t play without a goalkeeper! The girls all did Beacon Hill proud. Harold Wood 0 - 1 Beacon Hill Vets The Vets' final game of the season saw them travel to mid-table Harold Wood. The home side started brightly & Beacon struggled to get a tempo going. As they grew into the game though chances started to fall regularly & it was Ben Brown who showed composure outside the box to outfox 2 defenders before calmly slotting home to give Beacon a 1-0 lead before the break. The 2nd half saw Beacon on the front foot again creating many chances but they couldn't find the net. At the other end, the defence stood firm to thwart any Wood attacks with keeper Mark Pollard having little to do. The game ended 1-0 giving the Vets an impressive 16 wins from 20 games, a goal difference of over 50 & 49pts in the bag. An outstanding season from the new League Champions. Harold Wood 1 - 2 Beacon Hill U15s The under 15’s went into their last game of the season needing 14 points from thematch to win the league. Playing at Harold Wood, it was a pretty even / competitive game BHR eventual winners 2-1 with a brace from Jack. Shooting Stars 3 - 8 Beacon Hill U13s The u13s secured their Premier Division status with a resounding victory. 6-1 up at halftime after some clinical finishing. Beacon saw out the second half with relative ease. Goals from Webb (3), Hall (2), Tooke, Walton & Wilkins with a Van Dijk esque header. We can now enjoy our last game of the season away to Springfield next week. Whilst our league position may suggest a struggle, only 3 teams have beaten us home and away this season so we have been more than competitive Hutton Blue 1 - 2 Beacon Hill U11s Our first game after another promotion and, despite a fairly subdued performance, goals from Freddie Stefanini and Wolfie Caplan saw the U11s make it 5 wins on the bounce. Maldon and Tiptree U7 1 - 7 Beacon Hill U7s Great game, attended by our very own BHR chairman and president no less - no pressure! The boys and girls put on a great show, highlighted by 4 goals from Ben Stefanini and a couple of incredible saves by A Kiddier.
