U6s are off and running
Beacon Hill U6s The boys really enjoyed their first match against Tollesbury. Some great performances against a team who were all in year 1 (vs the majority of ours in reception) Beacon Hill Ladies 1 - 2 Stanway BHR Women's attempt to reach a Cup Final fell at the last hurdle on Sunday succumbing 1-2 to Stanway in the Tiptree Cup. A valiant effort by a reduced squad, who put in one of their best performances of the season, was led by outstanding saves from keeper Molly Lee and a brilliant midfield display from goalscorer Ella Jones. Beacon Hill Development 2 - 2 Rayleigh The Club's third Saturday team completed their season's programme with a 2-2 home draw against title-chasing Rayleigh Town, with Tony Hudson grabbing the equaliser. Beacon Hill Vets 3 - 2 Rowhedge On Wednesday night, the Vets moved into the semis of their Tiptree Cup with a narrow 3-2 win over Rowhedge. Beacon Hill U13s 3 - 6 Shooting Stars
Despite the emphatic scoreline, this game was a much closer affair than it suggests, with the visitors clinical in taking their chances, whilst Beacon created plenty but couldn’t convert them all. Josh Hall with a well-taken brace and captain Henry Lawrence were the scorers. Most pleasing was the way the lads kept at it despite the scoreline going against them, they could easily have thrown the towel in but kept working hard for each other. They will need this attitude for the last three matches of the season to help them stay in the Premier division.
