The reserves progressed to the next round of the cup, winning 4-2 on penalties. 0-0 after 120 minutes, both teams missed big chances to win, 26 year old Laurence Wright stepped up to score what would be the winning penalty between two Charlie Fitt saves.
Beacon Hill Vets 3 - 1 First City
It was a close game against the Vet's nearest challengers, who were just 1 point behind before kick-off. A well-taken free-kick saw the Vets go one behind before Dave Shelley equalized with a header to go in 1-1 at halftime. A cross-shot from Si Walker avoided everyone and nestled in the net. With 10 to go, Jon Saunders was sent clean throigh and he finished off a fine 3-1 victory.
Beacon Hill U15s 4 - 2 Ongar Under 15’s played Ongar at home in a rescheduled fixture, stopped in the 2nd half due to heavy rain. Another exciting game saw two goal-line clearances from the BHR defense, a well-taken hat trick, and a sublime free-kick to ensure victory 4-2.
Beacon Hill U13s 0 - 2 Intersports (AET)
The U13s bowed out of the cup, losing 0-2 in extra time. It was an extremely competitive cup game which, on the balance of play, Beacon deserved to progress to the next round but just didn't take their chances on the day.
Beacon Hill U11s 2 - 4 Hatfield Broad Oak
The U11s lost a competitive cup tie 2-4 to Hatfield Broad Oak. We played some really decent football and probably deserved to win but couldn't take our chances and 3 defensive mistakes gifted the opposition goals.
Blackmore 4 - 1 Beacon Hill U10s The U10s lost 4-1 to Blackmore, a team who have just come down from the division above. We played some really nice stuff and certainly the better football but sadly couldn't convert the chances created.
Great Leighs 2 - 1 Beacon Hill U9s
The U9s had a great game away at Great Leigh's, ending up losing 2-1 despite plenty of chances to score. An unbelievable double save by Eden Pash was the highlight of the game.
