Bad start to a bad weather weekend
It was mainly victories for high winds and rain this weekend. However, Beacon Hill did manage a few fixtures.
A Team 1 - 4 Ongar Town
Springfield 0 - 3 Beacon Hill U15s The U15s traveled to Springfield for a crazy, wind-affected game. A special mention to Herbie and Jude who kept their heads despite some real provocation from the oppo (both offending players removed by their manager). Playing with only 11 again, the boys managed their first clean sheet of the 21/22 season and scored 3 for the victory.
Beacon Hill U11s 2 - 2 Springfield Blue U10 A freak goalkeeping incident at training on Saturday left U11s manager, Tristan Webb, with a fractured pelvis. However, his absence didn't affect the boys as they were quick out of the blocks to take an early lead. Springfield then proceeded to dominate the first half, implementing a very impressive high press. In the second half, Springfield's dominance was rewarded with two well-taken goals to take the lead. However, Beacon rallied in the last 10 to grab a point following a fine assist from Albert Gillespie,
South Woodham Ferrers 5 - 1 Beacon Hill U9s The U9s came up against a very strong South Woodham side, in the end losing 5-1.
