Beacon Bounce Back

Two great wins for the Firsts and Reserves as both squads dug in to garner six much needed points. The Firsts travelled to Epping Town and had as much trouble with the pitch and wind as the opposition but in the end took three hard earned points back to the Hill. The action can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKg14GS8Dm4 with Hill’s goals coming at 4.50, 8.10 and 9.20. Back home on Stu Harwood’s carpet the Reserves continued their push up the Division One table with another great team performance in their 2-0 victory over Brentwood Athletic.

Also at the Hill the Club’s Veterans had to rely on a late equaliser to maintain their league leadership with a 2-2 draw against Leigh Utd. It was a tough Sunday for Hill’s youth teams. They’ve been gathering up promotions recently and the fixture computer gave them tough games with the 13s, 11s, 10s, 9s and 8s all falling to defeats; the 13s came closest only conceding the only goal of the game late on against Hutton. Rovers’ tiny tots had an under 7s Festival at Springfield and enjoyed three tight fixtures, winning one.

Next weekend will see female game given priority at the Hill with the Primary age teams hosting a multi team Festival on Saturday morning with the Women’s team facing title chasing Frontiers on Sunday, 2pm ko.
