New Girls’ Squad for Beacon Hill

Saturday 6 th November will see the first training session for Beacon Hill’s next venture with Girls Football to add to the successful list of teams and players since the Club first introduced Girls Football in 2003. There is an open invite to all girls of Secondary School age who want to play football: 10.30 at the Hill; see the attached flier for more details and spread the word, the more the merrier.

Weather had an impact on matches for the first time this season with a number of games cancelled and the u15s boys match abandoned in the second half. Those that did survive produced a mixed bag of results for the Club but a definite positive feel to all the performances. The Men’s Firsts’ match away at Toby FC eventually went the way of the hosts but Hill were right in the match throughout and would have gone in at half-time at 1-1 but for a dubious linesman’s call. The spirited team effort though bodes well for the coming month of tough fixtures. Earlier in the day Hill’s over50s Walking Football finished off their season in style, thrashing Billericay Town 6-0 and then

claiming the scalp of champions Norwich City thanks to a single Wayne Purser strike.

The not-so-old Old Boys, Rovers Veterans (at a spring chicken over 35!) maintained their lead at the top the League with a comfortable 6-0 demolition of hosts Shenfield. The Beacon Hill youth teams that did get their games in also showed that the Club’s future generations can also play the beautiful game with a triple of net-busting wins: the 11s won 6-2 against Harold Wood, the 10s beat Intersports 8-4 whilst the 8s played some great team football in their 6-0 victory against Gt Bradfords.

Last Saturday saw the Club host a highly successful Halloween Party, thanks to Ryan and the team for a brilliant evening. Watch this space for future events.
