6s and 60s Take First Steps

Last weekend saw Beacon Hill at its best with a near full set of fixtures and training. Saturday was the beginning of a new football journey for a Rovers team as the under 6s had their first practice session with Tim Jarvis and Kalan Revell. At the other end of the footballing spectrum Monday produced Hill's over 60s' first league win, a 2-0 victory against Concord Rangers after another excellent result, a scoreless draw with Leyton Orient.

Both of Rovers' First Teams suffered single goal defeats at the weekend: the Men 0-1 at table topping Wakering and the Women 1-2 at St Cleres despite Ella Jones' strike. These tight results show both teams are competitive after promotions. The Men's Reserves beat Kelvedon 5-0 in a friendly whilst Hill's Veterans kept their good start to the season going by beating Tillingham 3-1.

Beacon's Youth Teams are also showing themselves to be nicely competitive. The 13s had brilliant start to their Premier Division season with a 3-1 home win over long-term rivals Springfield. The 15s couldn't follow up last week's win as illness took its toll, a 1-5 reverse at Billericay the consequence.

Beacon's 9s and 10s took part in high quality matches, the 9s played Notley and went down to their first defeat in ages, 0-3 whilst the 10's drew 2-2 with Ongar. The rest of Rovers' teams all won: 11s 5-0 against Linford Wanderers, 8s beat Wilvale 9-3 and the 7s won comfortably against Maldon Saints by 13-0.
